A Clinical Observation on Injuries of the Genitourinary Tract

Abstract
|
|
|
A clinical observation was made on the injuries of Genitourinary tract of in patients in the Department of Urology, Seoul Red Cross Hospital during the period from January, 1972 to December, 1977.
The results were as follows;
1) Of 605 cases hospitalized, 5.5 cases were injuries of Genitourinary tract, giving a ratio of 8.4%. The sex ratio, male to female, was 5. T ; 1. High range was in. 10 to 40 years.
2) Traffic accident was the, most frequent cause of the injuries (49.1%)
3} The urethra was involved most frequently(54. 5%), and the kidney was in 18.2%.
4) Nephrectomy was performed in 2) cases(20%) of 10 cases of renal injuries.
5) The ureteral injury was occurred during pelvic surgery.
6) 19 cases of 30 urethral {injuries and 3 cases of 8 bladder injuries were accompanied with pelvic bone fractures.
